Mr. Lawyer is a lifetime entrepreneur and is the visionary Founder, Director, and CEO of Aquarius Cannabis. He believes that cannabis is the single most valuable renewable resource on the planet, and is dedicated to the full commercialization of both drug and industrial cannabis. He is driven by a passionate belief in individual liberty and chose to enter the cannabis industry as a form of “business activism” against the War on Drugs.
Mr. Lawyer founded Aquarius Cannabis in 2011 based on the belief that developing large scale, professional consumer brands would be the most effective and profitable way to combat social stigma around cannabis usage, that he believes perpetuates cannabis prohibition.
In 2012 and 2013, Mr. Lawyer raised a $250K Seed Round for the development of Aquarius’ consulting and brand licensing model and intellectual property for pesticide-free cannabis cultivation.
In 2014, Mr. Lawyer recognized that institutional capital was beginning to enter the industry. He made the strategic decision to pivot Aquarius’ focusing to becoming the first fully-reporting, publicly traded cannabis company in the U.S. to both earn revenues directly from its cannabis brands and become public via a “clean registration”.
In 2015 and 2016 he led Aquarius to the successful completion of its S-1 registration with the SEC, enrolled three “best in class” officers and directors to lead Aquarius, and closed consulting and brand licensing contracts with cultivation facilities that Aquarius expects to generate over $25M in annual revenue. Mr. Lawyer continues to believe that pent-up demand from retail investors will flow into “best in class” public companies at a rate that gives them a major advantage over their private competitors in financing the growth and consolidation of cannabis brands.
While still in college in 2009, Mr. Lawyer founded his first retail delivery service covering Downtown Los Angeles. In 2010 and 2011 he working full time as wholesale broker of cannabis to legal dispensaries across California, and even tried his hand at cultivation.
Davis graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and minor in Marketing from the University of Southern California, where he was awarded a full-tuition “Trustee Scholarship.”
